@scpd511 haha he never made an agreement. NBC forced leno out 5 years ago to keep conan because he was getting offers from other networks.

Top 10 complaints of Mavis Leno:
      10. Jay always plays with his cars & not with her.
      9. His chin gets in the way when he’s “down there”.
      8. When he climaxes he sounds like Elmer Fudd.
      7. He stole her 11:30 show about unemotional robot husbands.
      6. For foreplay he says “Vroom…Vroom”.
      5. Nude “Jaywalking” just isn’t funny.
      4. He prefers to pleasure peacocks.
      3. The sobbing about how Letterman & Kimmel kicked his ass.
      2. He’s not Johnny.
      1. He kicks Conan out of bed at 11:30.

Leno screwed Johnny, Dave ,Rosie, and now Conan. It would be very easy for Leno , to say no to the Tonight Show, but he will always be a lying back stabber

Jay time to retire and bow out with a little grace, honor, and integrity while you still can, you made an agreement five years ago, live up to it. Thank you.

Of Course, When The New Series Comes Back On

    • PlasterCaster94

No, This Isn’t The Official Footage, So It Didn’t Show The Interview Or Anything, But You Can Probably Find It On YouTube somewhere.

I guess I win then, whatever that means!

I also never called u an American hater, just ignorant. There is a big difference between hating a country and simply not understanding it.

    • Janusha

Like I said.. youre very welcome to “win” if you really want to.

    • Janusha

Oh I c.. so Im an america hater now.. thats why you throw words back at me in the most annoying way.

    • Pick1980a

Name of the sitcom? Nothing is listed on Imdb except for some British tv shows. TV movies don’t count!

And by the way everyone moderately talented gets on Letterman and the late show. The woman from the San Diego Zoo is more of a regular than him. They have roughly 250+ shows to do with a minimum for 3 guests a night. He is a funny man but not a shining success here.

Really you have no argument here and you don’t have any idea what you are talking about.

    • Pick1980a

Yeah I agree this argument came about from earlier conversations relating to why Top Gear America was canceled. He then proceeded to make some, frankly ignorant comments about Americans and here we are.

    • 4ZZ3R

Not starting trouble but, you two are arguing over a show which is scripted for the viewers but then the cast are aloud to say what they want for example. they went to Bolivia recently , and they were set a challenge and also set so much money to spend in the country and also told when to talk about the cars and where, the show is massive over here, JC, RH, JM swears in this episode, which wasnt scripted, you both are arguing over who has made it big as a comiden, nothing to do with Jay Leno

    • Janusha

Billy Connolly had a role in a sitcom. So does his daughter. Hes on Letterman and all the big shows every time he passes USA on his constant world tour. Americans cant get enough of him. which is why they put him into every role they can even if its not something major.. after all. Hes not an actor. Enough of this.

    • Pick1980a

Wow you are very arrogant for someone who does not live in the country you are commenting on.
I wouldn’t presume to know about Norway because I went to Olso for 3 days once. You come off hateful and ill-informed.

I went on IMDB and the only thing that he appears on that is American is a Comedy Central stand up special. That does not make him famous. Not at all
Billy Connolly has had supporting roles in some movies over here but frankly if he walked down the street noone would recognize him.

    • Janusha

Jimmy carr and billy connolly both were on their seperate tv shows in USA. I didnt claim EVERYTHING these people do is unscripted and Im through picking on details.. I saw the video you linked and if thats what youre basing it on.. Well.. If you insist on believing they have their own writers like Jay Leno and Letterman. Then fine. You can “win” if you want to.

    • Pick1980a

I am in adverting, so it kinda of does.

I know of these people because I am half English but many of them are not famous here.

Sasha Baron Cohen I forgot because he not on tv
      Monty Python was decades ago
Jack Dee, Jimmy Carr, Billy Connolly are not know in the US at all
Hugh Laurie is on a show that is entirely scripted
Russel Brand and Ricky Gervais I mentioned.

As for Top Gear being scripted: watch?v=dLvlfAyduvA 7:20

Don’t get me wrong I love the show. I wait to DL it every Sunday.

    • Janusha

Just because you dont know them doesnt mean they didnt become big in USA.

      Craig Ferguson
      Sasha Baron Cohen (Borat)
      The entire Monty Python gang.
      Jack Dee
      Jimmy Carr
      Russel Brand
      Eddie Izzard
      Billy Connolly
      Hugh Laurie from House.
      Ricky Gervais

Are just top names that I can come up with right now.. There are obviously alot more and probably some that I dont know. I dont know what you base it on but nobody writes the TopGear shows.

    • Pick1980a

Jimmy Carr and Michael McIntyre would not do well in the US because their humor would not translate well.

As for the Daily Show; aside from a “panel show” I think it is easily the most loosely scripted shows in TV. Think about it; when was the last time you saw Jon get through a show without laughing at his fellow presenters. Everyone goes off script constantly on that show. The Colbert Report by contrast is similar to Top Gear in that it is scripted but there is room for improv.

    • Pick1980a

Actually the stuff they say is scripted. They write it and obviously improv but it’s scripted nonetheless.

Not to be argumentative but there are not that many English comedians who have done well in the US. Russell Brand and Ricky Gervais come to mind but the rest are on moderately successful shows. There are way more Canadian comedians than anyone else actually. British comedians benefit from the “panel show” formula in Britain but that does not mean the unique British humor translates.

    • Janusha

Sure, what they are going to DO in Topgear is scripted but not the stuff they say. I really dont know Adam Carolla but I will check him out. Sure USA have a few greay commedians but England kinda own that whole concept. As soon as they get any kind of famous in they come to USA and rock because there are so many of them in England its easier for them to stand out and cash in the big bucks in USA. Stuff like John Stewart is great but it runs on rails. Very little oportunity for improvisation.

    • Pick1980a

Well Top Gear in the UK is scripted. And Adam Carolla would have been a good start because he is really funny and knows quite a bit about cars. You should DL his podcast; it’s #1 in the US and not full of 1 liners.

To be honest there are some excellent comedians in the US. And Jon Stewart’s Daily Show is very spontaneous. The issue is the regulations here in the US and the impact the have on programming. (Both real and imagined.) Top Gear would be much better on a Specialty station.
