Autocar Spies Audi R8 E-tron On the road Spied HQ Song: Joell Ortiz- Call Me (Instrumental) Enjoy & Comment! The Audi R8 e-tron has hit roads in Germany at the beginning of a development program that aims to have the all-electric, four-wheel drive supercar on sale by the end of 2012. Very much a toe in the water exercise on the way to the establishment of more volume orientated zero emission e-tron badged models, the R8 e-tron is planned to be built individually to order in a limited run of no more than 1000 units. Pricing of the new two seater has not yet been revealed. However, Audi officials say it will cost more than the R8 V8, which sells for £82555 in the UK. By way of comparison, the similarly-conceived Lotus Elise based Telsa roadster retails here for £86950. The prototype version of the R8 e-tron captured here undergoing testing on public roads for the very first time adheres closely to the original concept wheeled out at last year’s Frankfurt with a shape highly reminiscent of existing V8 and V10 petrol powered versions of Audi’s performance flagship. Clues to the new Audi’s electric driveline come by way of its complete lack of external cooling ducts. In keeping with the earlier concept, it also boasts a blanked off rear screen. At 4260mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1230mm in height, the R8 e-tron is 170mm shorter, a scant 5mm narrower and 5mm higher than the R8 V8. It also rids on a wheelbase that, at 2600mm, is 50mm shorter than its mid-engined Audi

Audi R8 GT Full Gallery Updated Details HQ Song: Sean Falyon Ft. Lloyd – Attention Instrumental Enjoy & Comment! Audi has released new images of its hardcore 560bhp GT version of the R8 supercar, which will go head to head with the Porsche 911 GT3 and Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. Just 33 of the hot R8 GTs are headed to the UK from a planned total production run of 333, a number Audi UK is already saying is not enough. Three years after the R8 burst onto the supercar scene, the GT version will match a more powerful V10 engine with a stiffer chassis, revised aerodynamics and weight-saving technology. Some of the engineering ideas have been proven on Audis R8 LMS racer, seen at last weeks Silverstone round of the FIA GT championship. The GT wasnt originally planned to be part of the R8 line-up, but Audi has responded to customer demand for a more focused version of the mid-engined coupé along the lines of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. As well as being a quick road car with sufficient tractability and compliance for road use, the R8 GT will also be suitable for track days and club competition events. Optional equipment will include a bolt-in roll cage, four-point race belts, fire extinguisher and kill switch for the battery. At the heart of the R8 GT is a modified version of the R8 V10s naturally aspirated, direct-injection 5.2-litre petrol engine — essentially the same unit used by the Gallardo Superleggera but with a different exhaust system. • Audi S7 begins testing HQ

Audi S7 begins testing HQ Song: Jay Z Ft Alicia Keys Empire State Of Mind Instrumental Enjoy & Comment! The Audi S7 has been spied testing at the Nurburgring for the first time – even though the production Audi A7 won’t be unveiled until the Moscow motor show in late August. The Audi S7 is differentiated from the standard model by a more aggressive front bumper, bigger air intakes, bigger wheels and a quad exhaust. It is not clear how much power the S7 will have, although unconfirmed reports suggest it will be either a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 or 4.2-litre V8 with around 500bhp. UK sales of the Audi A7 will start in March next year and a V10-powered RS variant will also be part of the range. The A7 is the first model based on Audis new mid-size platform, which will underpin next years seventh-generation A6. The 4950mm-long A7 has been conceived to provide stiff competition to the new Mercedes-Benz CLS, also set to be revealed at the Paris show, and a production version of BMWs recently unveiled Gran Coupe concept due in 2012. Topping the line-up will be an RS7 Sportback performance model running a 580bhp version of Audis naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine in combination with the firms new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Other models in the line-up will use a range of V6, V8 and V10 petrol and diesel engines. Among the engines expected to account for the majority of UK sales are Audis new 330bhp supercharged 3.0-litre V6 direct injection petrol and 250bhp 3.0-litre

Autocar Audi R8 V10 Vs. Honda Civic Type R Mugen HQ Song: Jhene Aiko Ft. Drake- July (Summertime) (Instrumental) Enjoy & Comment! Can a Honda Civic Type R Mugen really keep up with an Audi R8 V10? The Civic Type R Mugen is one of the world’s maddest – and certainly its most expensive – hot hatch. The Audi R8 V10 is a classic mid-engined supercar. The Honda has a transversely mounted four-cylinder engine that powers its front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. It’s engine has been massaged to produce 239bhp, and red lines just below 9000rpm. It costs £38599. The Audi has ten cylinders to the Honda’s four, boasts 518bhp and has four-wheel drive and twice the torque of the Civic. The only thing Audi has that it doesn’t need is weight – 1625kg to the Honda’s 1233kg. This is a shootout on a public road – and that’s very relevant, because opportunities to use even half the Audi’s potential in that environment are rare indeed. The only way to drive in these conditions is well within the car’s and your capabilities – and that’s much easier to do in the Honda than the Audi. The contest will run over one of our favourite Welsh mountain roads. Steve Sutcliffe and Jamie Corstorphine are driving – and swapping cars between runs to prove the driver isn’t the variable. Put simply, whoever was following, and whichever car they were in, could keep up. Why? Because on a public road the leading driver will always be at a disadvantage that not even an extra 279bhp can compensate for. On

  • Audi R8 GT Spyder Rendered HQ

Audi R8 GT Spyder Rendered HQ Song: Clipse- Popular Demand (Popeyes) (Instrumental) Enjoy & Comment! Jon Sibal has given us this Spyder rendering based on the new Audi R8 GT. Although Audi has not said anything official about a topless R8 GT, that shouldn’t stop creatives like Sibal from playing around a little. While automakers almost never produce a convertible version of their most extreme sports cars, exceptions have appeared from time to time. The old Ferrari 430 Scuderia 16M is one example. With that in mind, a rendering such as this could conceivably come to life. Unfortunately for ordinary folk, it would be so expensive and therefore so exclusive that only a few could afford it. That is probably one reason the artist used fictional comic billionaire Tony Stark as the driver. Stark, known to his legions of followers as Iron Man, is an R8 V10 Spyder owner. The real R8 GT is a coupe weighing 100kg less than the normal V10-powered model. It has the same 5.2-litre engine that sends up to 85% of its 540Nm (398 lb-ft) to the rear wheels. Peak power is 412 kW (553 bhp / 560 PS) and the 0 – 100km/h sprint takes just 3.6 seconds.

  • Audi S7 interior spied for first time HQ

Audi S7 interior spied for first time HQ Song: Jay-Z – Politics As Usual Instrumental Enjoy & Comment! It’s a double scoop for our ever-alert spies as they follow up on the first Audi S7 pictures they snapped just a day ago. What we have now are the first shots of the interior taken at the Nürburgring. Looking down on the center console we can see the 7-speed S-tronic gate for manual gearshifts which can also be actuated by paddles behind the steering wheel. Characteristic of all S models, the S7 will come fitted with a four-tailpipe exhaust system, modified bumpers, a sporty suspension and a high-performance braking system. It is rumored that the new RS 5′s V8 engine will do duty in the S7 as well and kick out the same 331 kW (444 bhp/ 450 PS). Drive will of course, go through all four wheels using quattro. Audi will debut the A7 at the 2010 Paris International Motor Show. The performance S7 may also appear at the event or wait for the 2011 Geneva show.

Audi RS5: And then all hell breaks loose. The RS5 bangs up to 62mph in just 4.6 seconds. 444bhp. 317lb ft of torque. Four-wheel drive. No wheelspin. Sheer torque, a constant, addictive slug. No peaks or troughs in the power delivery, no waiting for 6000rpm and variable valve timing. Just brilliant, easy pace. Rainy today? Motorway miles today? Back-road blast today? No problems just wake up, shower, drive somewhere quickly. Whereas in the BMW M3 or Merc C63 AMG you need to plan ahead more, get yourself psyched up to think about the approach to a particular journey; in the RS5 it just happens. The thinking process is taken care of. Still, even though it’s hugely expensive, the RS5 doesn’t feel like a rip-off. The usual Audi build quality helps, but it’s more the fact that Audi has somehow managed to differentiate the A5 from the A4 in my mind. It’s made the A5 feel more premium, in contrast to the way that a 3-Series Coupe still feels like a 3-Series. A £50k-plus 3-Series or C-Class seems like a lot of money, a £50k-plus A5 doesn’t feel like such a bad deal. Audi R8 GT: Big news. Big, big news. Audi has revealed the R8 GT, the most extreme version of its four-wheel-drive supercar yet. Lighter, harder and faster than the, er, standard’ R8 V10, the GT will be out to pick a big

2010 2011 2012 Audi R4 ETron Aka Baby R8 E-Tron Not Real Renderings HD Song: Jay Z Ft. Rihanna and Kanye West — Run This Town Instrumental Enjoy & Comment! Audi has officially told Autoweek that the e-tron concept car will soon become a full production model. Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen said he expected to see some running examples within the next 24 months. Those words have our spies all excited about the possibilities for the next few months. The R8-looking e-tron concept of IAA 2009 is powered by four electric motors on each axle. They in turn are powered by a 213kg lithium-ion battery pack located behind the two seats. Maximum system power is 230kW (313hp) and peak torque is a mammoth 4500Nm (3319.03 lb-ft). Audi says it will go from 0 – 100km/h (0 – 62mph) in 4.8 seconds and record a top speed of 200km/h (124mph). On a fully-charged battery the car will go on for 248km (154 miles). The e-tron should be launched in the US by 2012 at the latest. It will compete with cars from Fisker and others, as well as the production version of the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept. Several other clean Audis are headed for North America including the Q5 hybrid set for a 2011 debut. Officially the e-Tron does not exist. However rumours and these pictures say it does, and that its powertrain is based on either the hybrid or 100% electric model. The former would fall in line with BMW’s Vision EfficientDynamics Concept while the latter would put it on par with the

  • Autocar Audi R8 V10 Spyder Vs Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet HQ

Autocar Audi R8 V10 Spyder Vs Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet HQ Song: Lil Wayne – Drop the World Instrumental Enjoy & Comment! How much of the R8s sensational dynamics have been preserved in the translation from coupé to Spyder? Thats what Autocars Jamie Corstorphine was left to decide in this weeks Autocar magazine. That and whether it can out punch the recently revised Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet. Driving the two back to back over the same stretch of road, the facts rapidly emerge. First, that although both cars are noticeably less rigid than their coupé equivalents, in neither is the degradation excessive. But over the toughest it is the Audi (£111995) that flexes least. The more interesting discovery is just quite how differently the Porsche (£109048) and Audi go about tackling a tempting B-road, and what sort of kicks they serve up. The R8 is more your classic supercar experience. Although it is one of the easiest to live with, it is still low and wide and, due to the drivers proximity to the engine, rich with mechanical interaction. Although the Spyder is softer than the coupé, it still turns with very little body roll, even with its magnetically adjustable dampers set in their more relaxed mode, and not once is it fazed by the evil crests, bumps and cambers that makes these roads such a test for a car. The Porsche is a very different animal. And thats down to torque 479lb ft of it, all the way from 1900rpm to 5000rpm. The Audi, by comparison, needs 6500rpm to deliver
